I believe in moments that feel like sunshine on your skin, belly laughs between frames, and images that take you right back to how it felt.
I’ve always loved what I do, but becoming a mother deepened it in a way I didn’t expect. It made me slow down, notice more, and truly understand how fleeting the little moments are. That awareness now lives quietly in every session I photograph.
Most days, I’m balancing motherhood and business, building a life that feels just as full as the memories I capture for my clients. And sometimes, those two worlds come together; my little girl often joins me on sessions, proudly ‘helping’ mama put a smile on people’s faces. She takes her role very seriously, so yes… my tiny assistant can absolutely be requested.
Curaçao is my home, but love stories are my compass, whether you’re dancing barefoot in golden light, holding your babies close, or stepping fully into your power during a boudoir session. Every session is a chance to meet incredible souls and tell their story honestly, beautifully, and without pretense.
Because life isn’t perfect - but it’s so worth remembering.

"Do what you love and you never have to work again"
I didn’t always dream of becoming a photographer. For the longest time, I thought I’d become a veterinarian. But life shifted in a way I couldn’t have planned.
In 2017, just before I turned 15, I lost my grandmother, the woman who taught me how to see the world differently. She left me her camera, and without realizing it at the time, it became my way of processing everything I didn’t know how to put into words.
What started as an emotional outlet slowly turned into something more. A way of seeing, feeling, and holding onto moments that would otherwise pass too quickly.
How I got here
My business name, Melanie Veroniquee, is a blend of both our names, Melanie and Veronica, a quiet tribute to the woman who shaped the way I see beauty in the everyday.
In 2020, during the stillness of lockdown, I picked up my camera again… and this time, I didn’t put it down.
What began as something personal grew into something purposeful.
Photography, for me, isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence. The laughter, the quiet, the in-between moments that tell your story, and deserve to be remembered.
• Grandparents with their grandkids? That kind of love gets me every single time. It’s the purest thing to witness.
• I’ll smile through your entire session… and then probably cry in the car afterwards. I feel everything, and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
• When I’m not photographing, you’ll find me crocheting, puzzling, or reading. Yes, I’m a bit of a nerd and I’ve fully accepted it.
• My favorite movie will forever be The Lion King. No debate.
Few fun facts
• Love definitely goes through the stomach for me. I love being in the kitchen and trying new things… just don’t give me fish, my body refuses to cooperate.
• I once dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. That dream never fully left, I just redirected it… and I still believe I need a Jeep big enough to fit at least a dozen dogs.
• I moved to Curaçao for love, first for the island, and then for my fiancé, who I met just six weeks before getting on that flight.
• My perfect day? Editing barefoot in the sun, good music playing, and my dog snoring next to me.
She under sold and over delivered ! I won’t share the details of that in case she’s unable to offer this to others booking in the future but I can verify that she’s very client focused. She was personable, timely, sweet and open minded to ideas and made this whole endeavour stress free, painless and FUN. I appreciated her respect toward another photographer in the area sharing the same space not having jeopardized an opportunity to capture the same setting (since we booked sunset).
When it came to editing, she kept me informed about her delivery expectations and process, and provided a teaser photo to keep my anxiousness and excitement at bay (Thank you so much) I was ready to make the announcement to family asap. She also accommodated edit specifications. We were super pleased with the outcome.
My husband and I felt that we have found a lifelong friend in Melanie and invited her to Canada and hope she takes us up on it one day.
Needless to say, you are in safe hands. I’m certain.

Discovered Melanie on Tik Tok and loved her style. I was very nervous about booking photography for an elopement in Curaçao from Canada but Melanie agreed to meet with me via video to ensure she was a real business / person. My editing is light and natural, with soft, true-to-life tones and just enough depth to make the moment feel exactly as it did. I work mostly with natural light (golden hour will always have my heart), and I’m drawn to the freedom and movement that outdoor sessions bring. That said, put me in a cozy studio with the right energy, and I’m just as in my element.
